Akemi was born and raised in Saitama, Japan. In 2001, she moved to New York City to pursue her passion for skincare and the beauty industry. After graduating from Christine Valmy School, she began her career as an esthetician and manager at a spa in the East Village, where she spent 15 years caring for clients of all ages and skin types. In 2019, Akemi opened her own private studio with a simple vision: to provide personalized, thoughtful skincare in a calm and welcoming environment. With over two decades of experience, she believes that beautiful skin begins with understanding what each person’s skin truly needs. Every facial is thoughtfully customized to support healthy, radiant, and naturally beautiful skin. Inspired by Japanese hospitality, or Omotenashi, Akemi creates a peaceful space where clients can slow down, relax, and take a moment away from the busy city. Her greatest joy is seeing her clients leave feeling refreshed, confident, and happy with their skin.

With over 20 years of expertise spanning Tokyo and New York City, Kaori brings a uniquely holistic approach to skincare that goes beyond the surface. Her journey began with a degree in English literature, but her true calling emerged in the wellness world. In Tokyo’s vibrant Roppongi district, she trained as a facial and massage therapist at an acupuncture clinic, developing a deep understanding of how internal wellness radiates outward. After moving to the United States, Kaori graduated from the prestigious Christine Valmy International School and earning her NY State esthetician license. She refined her craft at finest luxury spas, cutting-edge laser clinics, and five-star hotels. As a mother of two, she stays active with regular workout and cherishes her travels throughout Japan.
